Worship & Discipleship
Ministry
Brendan came to GRBC in 2016 to serve as Minister of Worship & Discipleship before being ordained as a pastor/elder later that year. Colossians 3:16 serves as a grounding for his ministry philosophy stating to "let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God." He is zealous to see fellow believers mature through worship-based prayer, family worship, Way of the Master evangelism training, and relational discipling.
Brendan was born in Connecticut, but grew up on the coast of North Carolina, before coming to Lynchburg, Virginia to attend Liberty University. He graduated from Liberty in 2010 (BM in Choral Performance).

Family
In 2013, Brendan married Kelly after a brief time of courtship and engagement. They now enjoy walking with God together as they raise young Noralyn ('14), Moira ('17), Cornelius ('19), Saoirse ('20), and Matthias ('22).
The Hegarty's have prayerfully found a family mission statement in Jeremiah 9:23-24,
Thus says the Lord:
“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;
But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me,
That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment,
and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight,” says the Lord.
